Terenggnau is one of the thirteen states of Malaysia and sits on the top north east coast of Malaysia.
Marang is a little sleepy fishing village in the state of Terengganu.
Kapas island is just a 20 minute boat ride away from the mainland, and Marang jetty.
Longsha campsite sits on the beach side of Kapas island.

Some of the best beaches and Ocean waves lay along the Terengganu coastline. In the monsoon the surf is up and you can catch a wave or two. The Marang surf club are always doing trips along the coast and to Kapas Island .

The vast sweeping coastline runs all the way down the east coast of Malaysia and is beautiful to drive along. There are many attractions to see and visit in Terengganu.
Attractions include the beautiful state Museum, which is embellished in a traditional intricate styled wood building and is worth a visit by itself. You can also find malls, markets, a huge library, and the beautiful and further out of town, the well-known Crystal Mosque.
Terengganu also has a working “London Bridge” which is a big tourist attraction. The river is also a tourist attraction with boat rides, and great food/restaurants and traditional boat makers still showing off there craft.
Along the side of the roads you can see traditional weaving of basket wear, batik many food stalls with traditional Terengganu/Malay Foods. There is plenty to keep you occupied in Terengganu.
Buses and taxis leave towards Marang and many other locations within Malaysia from the bus terminal just on the edge of Terengganu town. There is also a Terengganu aiport connecting domestic and international flights.

Beofre arriving at the jetty you will see some local shops and a brilliant market where you can stock up with basics before you take the boat at the jetty to Kapas Island.




The local market changed from beside the jetty to it new home under the concrete building “Banadar Marang”
New bus terminal in Marnag. Ten years ago, this was only a bus stop. You had to go to Terengganue for most buses.


The Jetty has been made bigger twice in ten years and new signs and seating areas added for guests.
