Basic facilities bring anyone back to a bit of reality, living at one with nature. Communal shared Kitchen, male and female communal showers are all built basic but functional and in the open air.
Most recent pictures of facilities are below:
There is a blog following all renovations of all facilities over the last ten years at:

Lighting up the under cover areas.
To save on electricity, we added some clear panels into the roofing in 2023. This change gives more hours of daylight in the kitchen, undercover areas and store cupboards. It has made a huge difference and allows sunlight to get to the sand.

Electric was self-sufficient back in 2014. A generator housing system was in place. It pumped water from the wells and provided electric power. However, it was run on petrol and diesel. This meant many costly trips back and forth to the mainland.
Then slowly around 2015/16 our own solar system was implemented . However, it was hard to maintain over the years.
We slowly erected solar lampposts in the last few years. They provided enough light for the campsite. We then used smaller solar lights where needed. We use a little electric power for the kitchen only from 7-11pm.

The Kitchen
The Kitchen has not changed too much in appearance over the years. With a lick of colourful paint, new coverings and eventually metal splash backs, the kitchen remains basic and functional.
Plates, cutlery and cooking pans/bowls and woks are available.
No need for single use items, please try and reuse, reduce and recycle during your stay.

Above you can see before and after.
2014 on the right hand side and in 2024 on the right hand side.
2026 – Longsha big push to try and reduce our waste.
We would like to encourage all Longsha camping guest to help the environment and island by trying not to use single use items.
Where we can lets, “Re-use, Re-cycle, Reduce” landfill and waste.

The longsha kitchen has all the equipment you need for a basic camping experience.

so we would like to think there should be no need to bring single use items.
These single use plates, cups, cutlery, items can easily be blown to the beach in winds/storms and create more landfill/waste if put in the bins. Let’s try and do our bit to help the island and Marine life.
Seating areas for eating.
The smaller tables & chairs change regularly due to monsoon damage and wear n tear.
The undercover group eating area has had the floor raised with sand and a boarder to prevent rainwater from collecting.
This provides an extra dry space during rainy times.
BBQ’s are also located in these areas and remade most seasons.

Toilets
We have two toilet blocks. They have changed several times over the years due to fallen trees. There has also been damage from the monsoon.
LHS Males Toilet and shower. RHS Female toilet and shower.

Below is 2025 Jan/February, new toilets being built for Ladies side finished February 2025, ready for some creative painting hands to decorate . An addition of a private changing room being added this year in ladies shower room.

The Camping Grounds

There is a lot of shade at the campsite garden but also some sunny areas, small chill areas and different small gardens with hammocks ……All areas have a sea view and are a two minute walk to the water. We reserve the front area of camp to be clear, so people can gather and chat, swing in an hammock and watch the sunsets without disturbing people if they are in there tents.
